Well, we made it....to the creek (and back). Eaden immediately set out on her quest for tadpoles.
Taven pointed at them.
The lil' buggers proved to be a little too fast for them. So they moved on.
We decided to walk over to the Nature Center.
Remember this bridge?
after walking a bit with no shade...
...I started to feel dizzy (and the Nature Center was closed by the way). Now I've fainted from the heat A LOT in my life. I fainted as a little kid at field day, as an older kid playing softball, at other random places, when I was pregnant, etc. etc. So I know the feeling I get when I'm about to faint. If I can sit down and drink water, or pour it over my head, I'm fine. So I did. And I was fine. I did start thinking about what my kids would do if I fainted and was too dizzy to walk. We were the only ones in the park, but I'm sure they could have found their way back to that bridge, and over it, past the creek, down the trail, and into the front office for help. Right? Anyway, we made it back.
And I felt fine so we explored the creek some more.
Glad you're okay! I know I never thought about the "what ifs" when my guy was little until something happened. Might be time to go over a "what if" plan with your littles.
ReplyDeleteThey did seem to enjoy themselves, though! I love the picture of the girls lying in the water.
I love that kids still try to catch tadpoles. It looks like your wee ones had a great time. Glad you didn't faint and were able to explore the creek and hopefully cooler weather is headed your way soon. xx
ReplyDeleteTadpoles rule and I am so happy you didn't faint. You all have some awesome creeks!
ReplyDeleteyikes! I am so glad you did not faint. The photos are lovely and the kids look sooooo happy!
ReplyDeleteEaden's little butt cheeks peeking out from her bathing suit are adorable. ;)
