Summer Beer

Well I'm not ashamed, I love my beer. Right now I'm super excited about all of the fall beers coming out (and football!). I love how the beers taste so much like the seasons, with maybe the exception of Spring. For some reason the Spring beers just don't taste very "Springy" to me. However, fall is my favorite! I wish someone would do a "drink and sew along" link sort of like yarn along (sorry to Ginny if that is offensive). Whatever. I love beer! Here is what I'm drinking now. The last of the summer beers before I switch full-time to fall...
I took this picture on my dead grass because, for me, that's what this summer has been all about. No rain and dead grass. Not that I give a hoot about grass.

  1. What an awesome picture!!! I love it! The grass almost looks black and white behind hte beer!

My husband is a total beer fanatic. We have been growing hops and drying them these past two years, and he's got a brewing kit that he's compiling, so one of these days we'll make our own...one of these days... ;)

  2. I think you should start a beer/yarn along! Have you checked out the knitting book Pints and Purls? Yes yes.. I really think you should!

And what would a springy beer taste like? What flavors would you want?

  4. Oh, this is making me giggle. I would join in. A new beer every sewing project. Internationally it would be interesting. My husband is talking about dusting down his brewing kit after 10 years. It has gathered a lot of dust.

  5. Awesome shot! Oh yes, I'd join in that sew along...even though I don't sew a lick. But imbibe - you betcha! ;-) Although I'm more of a wine drinker...pinot in spring, cold whites in summer, merlot in autumn and meaty reds in winter (see, it's seasonal ;-)

  6. I love the few green blades of grass peeking in from the edge of the frame. And I would love if there were more sew-along projects, because I love to sew, but am a failure at knitting. Beer would be optional, but always welcome!

And I agree, spring beers never taste springy enough.

  7. Wow, what a great picture! I also LOVE good beer, and also am excited for all the thick, milky, chocolaty, dark beers that the cooler weather bring.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....I'll be back by yours. :D

  11. Hi Megan!

I'll tell you which beer I've enjoyed this summer: Widmer Brothers Rotator. It's an IPA in which all the elements balance nicely. It's not the hoppy kick in the teeth most IPA's are. It's really refreshing, sorta like a Sprite.

And thanks for following my blog! I will do likewise.
