We had a great Father's Day here yesterday! First thing, the kids ran outside to surprise Daddy with his card while he was out working in the yard.
Then we cleaned up a little and waited around for all of the family to show up.
My husband made stew.
And of course Grandpa got the best parts!
My brother made pizzas!
My Dad made beans!
And my other brother made a casserole!
Of course, beer was involved.
The kids played outside.
And I made the pound cake from A Homemade Life (with blackberries).
Happy Father's Day!
Your pound cake looks so good :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun celebration. That cake looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteFun was had by all!!!! Mom
ReplyDeleteYour Dad's Day looks awesome! What an awesome feast. Plus I loved that all the men cooked!
ReplyDeleteI told Ade that I wished he would put something other than goat feet and turkey gizzards in his stew for fathers day. When I got to his house he came up to me and said with a grin, "I put some chicken in the stew this time". The moral of this story: Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it!!!
ReplyDeleteWe'll see what he's got for you in the stew next time dad! The girls love chicken heads and feet! omg Angela! I didn't even realize the men cooked! for father's day! it's not some twisted tradition we have....although we did make them move furniture too. i said potluck and it just happened that the men brought the food.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a feast of a Father's Day! The pound cake looks positively scrumptious. :)
