I got the idea for these pencil rolls from one of Amanda Blake Soule's books I checked out from the library. I don't remember which one. I use to have a group of teens at the library called the Sew Brigade and they attempted to make these as well. I have no sewing machine or sewing tools. I just kind of wing measurements. Obviously, this is not real wool felt. It's leftover polyester felt scraps I "borrowed" from the library. I like to sew when I get the chance, but without a sewing machine, the going is slow.
