This Moment

A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor, and remember. Thanks Soulemama.

  1. That is too cute. :)
Looking over your last several posts, I was thinking about your "tired of all the pretty stuff" post. And I just want to tell you that I think you have provided a lot of beauty for your kids - in the activities you all do together, the places you go, the darling Valentine's you made for them. Beauty is really what we make it, don't you think?

    1. yes! i think my kids are very lucky and i know they are very happy :-) i got the idea for that post when my kids were doing some activity at the kitchen table and i thought oh no i have to take your picture with that ugly curtain in the background. then i thought who cares! i started this blog for my family to see what we were doing and im going to keep it that way. when i start to think about other families and other blogs i feel this pressure to be perfect. i dont feel it anymore, but i guess i did...

    2. I get that way sometimes. I just try to get an angle where you don't see the pile of dirty dishes in the background or the wall splattered with who-knows-what. Every once in a while I get the urge to make a post with pictures of all the gross mess or rants about the annoying attitudes or whatever, but i always end up not doing it, because I really like being able to occasionally look back through my blog and say, "Hey, maybe I'm not such a terrible mom after all."

    3. I have to agree with Sarah. I think it is beautiful. And you know, today while I was taking of picture of Ansley, I had to angle the camera just so, to not get a shot of DH's dirty clothes lying on the bed, or the pile of shredded fabric from the dog toy Bella had just destroyed, or the open closet, which really should be closed simply for the fact that looking at it's state of utter disaray drives me nuts LOL.

I love this pic though. Just perfect :)
