After finding our first eggs yesterday, I woke up this morning and went straight to the coop. No eggs. So I let the chickens out and kind of kept an eye on them. The gold ones were definitely acting out of the ordinary.
And I knew when this one headed for the pine shavings (see previous post) that another egg was probably on its way.
Yep! Not long after she sat down...A warm and shiny egg! Right outside my back door!
If you can't tell, this is all very exciting to me :-)
that is so awesome! I really want chickens but I can't get Michael into it. Maybe one day! :)

ReplyDeleteChickens are soooo funny! They really will lay anywhere but the coop given half a chance. When I was a kid, we used to have egg hunts, as my mums chickens would lay all over her garden! Mine like to lay in the field if they're out, but thats not much at the moment, so its just the coop for us now. Fresh eggs are the best aren't they? I hope you continue to get a regular supply!

that's so exciting! my hens have been laying for a few months now, but i still get really excited whenever i see new eggs in the nesting box. congrats!
