My sister and I took the girls to The Texas Renaissance Festival yesterday. I've been going there since I was a kid and it's one of my absolute favorite places. We started with the Dragon Swings
and then the King's Swings
Naia was a bit scared at first and not sure of all the loud noises.
Eaden, on the other hand, was excited about everything!
We watched a really neat demonstration on birds of prey.
We watched The Mud Show
Then we had some lunch
and watched the Gypsy Dance Theatre.
We watched a parade of characters.
They loved Naia and she started to loosen up a bit.
We saw all sorts of folk throughout the day (no parade needed).
We checked out some demonstrations (they have an armoury, blacksmithing, broom making, candle making, coin minting, glass blowing, metal casting, pole lathing, printing, papermaking, and weaving.)
Naia decided she was ready for The Dragon Swings.
Then we headed over to The Arena for a good ole' jousting match!
We sat in the English part of the stadium and so became English, chanting "England until we die!"
We didn't fare so well.
Here I am with my sister at the Renaissance Festival. I was probably about 10.
that is so cute that you added a photo of yourself from when you were a kid! Looks like a great time.

ReplyDeleteSo much fun! We were really hoping to take the kids to our Renaissance Fair, but we never got a chance. Now it's the Forest of Fear for Halloween, not very kid friendly.
