We decided to stay home a bit more this week and bring out our inner craftiness. I thought I'd better do an update now before it gets out of hand. We also (finally!) decorated our mantel for Fall. Turns out needle felting is not hard!
We made toilet paper roll binoculars,
a catch the beer caps in the can toy (idea from Artists Helping Children),
and a fall collage. I've been buying magazines at the library for 10 cents (or taking them from my mom's house).
We made these optical illusions (seen at The Forest Room).
Side note: I always laugh at Eaden and her thinking that 80 degrees is sweater weather.
Can you believe the fun to be had with a ball and some pots! We played Bozo's Grand Prize Game (my favorite as a kid).
Isn't my grass beautiful? I like this next picture. See where the ball is?
Then we made some lacrosse type thingies. I attached the planters with hot glue.
We started our pressed leaf collection.
And we learned how to play marbles...well not really. The girls made up their own rules.
We made this Stabling Your Horses game from Artists Helping Children. Is this cheating?
We're on a crafting roll so more to come!

Aidan loves marbles. Eaden can challenge him to a game next time they are together. He makes up his own rules as well.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks great! I love the banner! How did you needle felt it?
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! The hand drawings turned out great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful mantel! And so much fun you have when it's "sweater weather" ;-) LOL. Oh that one cracked me up! I'm so glad it's finally cooling off for you :-)
ReplyDeleteWOw! I love those optical illusions. Seriously, I feel like you are so motivated and organized! How do you do it? Pointers, please!! I often spend the weekend planning crafts and activities for the week and by Monday we've either done them, I've realized that he is too young to do them, or I just lose steam.
ReplyDeleteI love all the creative activities, with things everyone has laying around the house. NO MONEY!!! Woohoo!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour comment on my post about the link had me on the floor. You crack me up! Thanks for the link though! I love seeing all of the crafty goodness you have been up to with your cuties lately. :)
ReplyDeletethe optical illusions are AWESOME
ReplyDeleteLots of crafty fun going on there! Every craft my girl does lately degenerates into smearing paint all around with her hands. Oh well, it's a whole tactile experience that way I guess :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! Very inspiring :)
ReplyDeleteIt all looks great! I want to come play at your house!
