At Winding Creek

We went to Grandpa's Farm for the Thanksgiving weekend. My dad has been working hard on his saloon.

Collecting firewood.

 Mirek loves to help.

 Walking the Bridge of Death.

 A tiny fire obsession.

The kids spend the vast majority of their time running with the dogs.

Naia was sad that she is never the one to find a treasure map. This time she found it!

 Showing Grandpa the map.

 And they're off!

 Daisy found her own treasure.

A clue near the bombing knocker.

 There were lots of clues.

Jackpot! Apparently, the pirates that used to hang out in these parts loved Halloween candy.

Shooting some of my Grandpa's old guns.

 A little work.

My dad said that if he falls to his death he will die with a smile on his face...

 Off to hunt.

The pirates left vampire teeth in the treasure box.

This one dog liked to bite Naia's pigtails. She did not appreciate it.

 Marley! Everyone's favorite.

My brother watched (and filmed) this cow give birth on Sunday morning when he was out hunting. We went over to check out the calf afterwards.

Looking at 3D images from the 19th century.

There is always the lovely sound of my children playing music.

We attempted a turkey stuffing waffle.

 The whole band.

Time to shoot the Red Ryder BB gun.

It was my Dad's brilliant idea to shoot BB's up in the air and see where they land.

 Singing Silent Night to Marley.

  2. What a great place to free-range play and roam and search for treasure! This is the stuff that childhood memories are made of.
