We went to the Arboretum today and good thing we did because we saw lots of creatures! Fish, lizards, turtles, tadpoles, frogs, birds, dragonflies, butterflies, and armadillos!
Naia immediately started a little collection.
Since my kids rarely have their hair brushed AND clean clothes on, I had to take group photos.
Lizards are always everywhere.
While Eaden and I were observing a frog and some tadpoles, Naia screamed "look y'all! Look!" and we all went running.
She had found two armadillos scrounging around for food. Since these are mainly nocturnal animals we do not see many (alive...we see dead ones on the road a lot) and were very excited. They do not have great eyesight and we are always able to get very close.
After following them around for some time we headed over to the library next door and checked out everything they had on armadillos.
What a beautiful place. :)
ReplyDeleteArmadillos are somewhat mystical to us, here in Vermont! I am amazed that they are "real." How fun to see some alive ones!
Hair brushed, clean clothes, everyone smiling and eyes open, that's a rarity around here! Great photos. Your kids are so gorgeous. I also like the one of the armadillo with "Ralph".
ReplyDeleteyeah we were photobombed!
