A More Successful Outing

We ventured out again and this time with better results!

 Taven, always the rule breaker.

 Identifying trees.

 And butterflies.

 Attempting to catch said butterflies.

 Close up examinations.

 Nature journaling.

Cypress swamp. Those are "knees" sticking out of the water. They grow from the roots.

Last and certainly (for me) least, the playground. However, I did manage to get Eaden to push Naia on the swings.

And this random stranger (sucker!) to push Taven.

Goings On

We've been...

Coloring (constantly). Naia did not draw the dolphin but she did draw that awesome sea lion! And all from her own head!

Eaden illustrated and dictated this story to me. She really enjoyed doing this and especially having me read her own story back to her. We will be creating more stories for sure.

This stray cat has been finding our backyard very interesting.

 A Pinterest inspired game.

Eggs from our chickens. Our other gold hen has started laying.

 Play doh.

We have been doing really well with not watching t.v. and I have been on the Internet less. Although I do allow myself to get on during the day if the kids are calmly playing together somewhere. Like now, they are playing in this fort...

I love kids' art!

We have been creating a lot of Pinterest inspired art lately.

These fingerprint people/creatures are somewhat addicting.

I've been enjoying joining in on the arts and crafts sessions. I usually stay creating longer than the kids :-)

The girls really enjoyed painting with their new watercolors. My painting is the one with the beer spilled on it.

Eaden made this little accordian book in a box which I love. She has been very interested in outer space lately and so I'm trying to capitalize on her interest while it lasts.

I made the girls a fabric scrap tutu inspired by this.

We have been playing a lot of games lately.

Guess Who? for family game night last night.

A nice picture from this morning.

And an interesting picture of my egg (left) and a store bought egg (right).
