Sea World San Antonio

A few months ago, my kids watched the movie A Dolphin Tale. They didn't watch it once, but over and over and over again. We checked out every dolphin book there was at the library, went to every dolphin website, etc. I looked into where we could go so that the kids could see dolphins up close and maybe even get to touch them. Sea World in San Antonio was the closest place. So I started thinking about going and eventually we made it there!

We arrived when the park opened and, just our luck, it was dolphin feeding time!

We walked around looking at the different exhibits.

We went to see the show Azul.

Then it was playtime.

We walked around some more (feeling like giving birth about this time), saw alligators, flamingos, ducks, penguins, sea lions, seals, and more. 

Then it was time for Shamu.

 Shamu thought it would be funny to soak us.

After the show, it was 5pm and the park was closing.

 Plenty of fun had by all.

New Braunfels, Texas

We went to New Braunfels Wednesday to visit my grandparents. We also went to Sea World in San Antonio on Thursday but I will save those pictures for another post.

First we went to eat lunch at The Gristmill.

 Then hung out in Gruene for a bit.

 Went over to Gruene Hall.

 Then to the General Store.

 I always let the kids pick out a candy. Don't ask me why with so much goodness to choose from they chose Ring Pops.

Now on to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house.

 The kids helped Pepaw Bill hang the flag.

 There were a million caterpillars to play with. I think Taven might of held a few just a little too tight.

 Then down to the river (this is my grandparents back yard!)

 And back up all of the stairs...

 

Lots of water!!!!

Now off to Landa Park!

I made all of my pictures 1960's style because, to me, they pretty much looked that way already. I am getting sooooooo frustrated with my camera! Half of my pictures are too blurry to post anywhere (and I took them outside in bright light) and the ones that are halfway decent still are not that clear. I REALLY want a new camera! I think I've asked this question before, but can y'all please recommend a good camera that is easy to operate and that takes clear pictures for under $250?

On the Farm

We had the absolute best weather at the farm these past few days. I wish I could live there... I'm thankful anyway that we have it in the family. A great place to go and pretend I have a lot of land and a farm. Also, nice for the kids to be able to run free with so much to do.

First things first, the kids' best bud Scooter (the neighbor's dog), needed a bath. Rolling around in dead mice stinks!

 Then off in search of some dewberries.

 Time to play giddy up!

 And shoot some deer.

 

Or maybe a wild sister.

 The kids got to help Grandpa on the tractor.

 Then off to find some critters.

Act goofy.

 Follow some tracks.

 And see what's lurking in random holes.

In addition to a nice relaxing (it's all relative) time, my Dad finished the coop! Pictures to come!

Shootin' chickens and eatin' chili

We are having gorgeous weather today! After the morning spent at gymnastics and the library, we made it home for an afternoon in the sun. The chicks have a new temporary home out back (I had to get them out of my garage!). We are heading to my dad's "farm" (in reality not a farm but 40 acres of hunting land in East Texas) tomorrow for a few days to help watch the finishing of the coop.

Eaden enjoys practicing her shooting skills.

 Do y'all think something is wrong with the middle chicken? She eats and drinks, runs around, etc. but doesn't seem to be growing like the others. The two on the left are the same breed.

 Off road racing.

 Supposedly "making poop" for the chickens.
